Approving the CSS switch request in Merchant Center

Where the pending request appears, who can approve it and what to do when it is not there.

How the request reaches you

The verteco.shop team sends the switch request from its CSS dashboard to your Merchant Center id. Google then e-mails the administrators of the account and lists the request in Merchant Center. Nothing changes until an administrator accepts it.

Approving it

  1. Sign in to Merchant Center with a user that has the Admin role on the account. Standard users can see the request but cannot accept it.
  2. Open Settings (the gear icon), then Comparison shopping services. The request from verteco.shop is listed there as pending. The e-mail from Google carries a link to the same page.
  3. Choose Accept (Approve). The page then shows verteco.shop as the CSS of the account.

If the request is not listed

  • Check that you are looking at the account whose Merchant Center id you gave us; a shop with several accounts receives the request on one of them.
  • If your account is a sub-account of a multi-client account (an agency MCA, for example), the CSS setting belongs to the MCA: its administrators receive and accept the request, and all sub-accounts move to the new CSS together.
  • Requests that stay unanswered for a long time disappear from the list. Send your Merchant Center id and a screenshot of Settings, Comparison shopping services to [email protected] and the request is sent again.

After accepting

Google lists your account under the verteco.shop CSS and your Shopping ads are shown with "By verteco.shop". Campaigns, feeds and the link between Merchant Center and Google Ads stay as they are. The Switchover tool in Komplet shows the state of your switch, and you can change the CSS again at any time on the same Merchant Center page, including back to Google Shopping.
